Health Talk:
‘The body stories we hold and how they (literally) shape us’
An experiential workshop on body/mind integration

Date to be posted on Telegram

Online via Zoom
Cost: £5-£10

Speaker: Doe Warnes FwSS, RSME/T, ITEC

How does chronic muscular tension shape our posture, our movement and our outlook on life?

This somatic approach offers a personal exploration of ‘listening’ to the non-verbal stories and wisdom within us.
Looking at the anatomy of chronic muscular ‘holding patterns’ will help focus attention to our own inner patterns. Sensory exploration through gentle movement aims to loosen, release, and often resolve deep muscular tension. This can lead to a deeper relaxation, inner connectedness and personal insight.

Doe will draw on 45 years experience of practising and teaching somatic bodywork, shiatsu, movement therapy and anatomy & physiology. www.doewarnes.co.uk

£2 per booking will go towards Herts Health Hub

Health talks opportunities

Our educational health talks aim to support people to take responsibility for their own health. A portion of the funds raised is allocated to the hub and the rest goes to the speakers. Some take place in person, others via zoom.

If you’re interested in giving a talk on a health-related subject with one or more practitioners, please contact Amanda Bate who is coordinating our Health talks.

Looking for volunteers

We currently have a small group of volunteers and are looking for more volunteer to join our team. Some of the roles we are looking for are:

  • Team leader: someone with experience of leading a team (does not have to be a health practitioner) to lead our team of volunteers forward.
  • Meetings Administrator: someone who would be happy to take minutes of our meetings
  • Emails manager: we would like to set up an email account for our hub and start building a mailing list. We are looking for someone to be in charge of managing the email account and the mailing list.
If you are interested in volunteering for one of these roles, please contact us through the Telegram group.
